Shyamsunder Lal

Vice President Supply Chain at ACWA Power

Shyamsunder Lal has extensive work experience in supply chain management. Shyamsunder started their career in 1995 as Deputy Manager Materials at Bharat Bijlee Ltd, where they were responsible for stock planning and sourcing of raw materials. Shyamsunder then moved on to Scientechnic as a Supply Chain Manager, where they implemented the SAP MM module and managed stock planning for a group of 22 companies. In 2006, they joined GE Power as Director Supply Chain Middle East and India, overseeing global sourcing, low cost country supply chain development, and vendor management. Shyamsunder then joined NOMAC (ACWA Power Company) in 2016 as Director Global Supply Chain, where they restructured the global supply chain and handled purchases worth over $100M. At the same time, they also worked at ACWA Power as Vice President Supply Chain and later as Executive Director Global Supply Chain. Overall, Shyamsunder Lal has a strong background in supply chain management, global sourcing, cost reduction, and vendor management.

Shyamsunder Lal obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electrical from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) between 1988 and 1992. Shyamsunder later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Operations Management and Supervision from the University of Mumbai from 1993 to 1995.
