James Stray has over 13 years of experience in the biotechnology industry, with expertise in molecular research and product development. James is currently serving as the Senior Director of Molecular Research Product Development and Innovation at Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp. Prior to this, they held various roles at Natera, including Director of R&D and Principal Scientist. James also spent several years as a Staff Scientist at Applied Biosystems.
James Stray's education history begins in 1983 when they earned their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Genetics from Washington State University. James then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the same institution, completing it in 1989. Following this, they attended the University of Utah from 1996 to 2003, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry. Moving forward, James undertook a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley, from 2003 to 2006, specializing in the field of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
