Mike Janson

Mike Janson has a strong background in machine learning engineering and data science, with experience in leading and managing teams. Mike most recently worked at Workday Adaptive Planning and Workday as a Manager of Machine Learning Engineering. Prior to that, they were a Senior Manager of Machine Learning and Data Science at Realtor.com, where they led a team of data scientists and implemented learning to rank models for search and recommendation.

Before Realtor.com, Mike worked at HERE Technologies for seven years as a Senior Manager of Machine Learning and Data Science, leading teams in delivering machine learning models, data analytics, and data pipelines for navigation and automated driving map products.

Mike also served as the Engineering and Analytics Site Lead at Spotify, where they collaborated with engineering teams to enhance features and recommendations for the streaming music service. Their experience also includes being the Chief Technology Officer at Taptera and working as a Senior Member of Technical Staff at Salesforce.com.

In addition, Mike has a background in software architecture and statistical programming, having worked as a Software Architect at Genentech and as a Statistical Analyst at Quantum Consulting. Overall, Mike Janson has extensive experience in machine learning, data science, and leadership roles within the technology industry.

Mike Janson holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Statistics and two Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degrees, one in Mathematics and the other in Economics, all from the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to their formal education, Mike has obtained certifications in Machine Learning from Coursera, a coaching certification ("F" Licensed Coach) from the California Youth Soccer Association, and certifications in Great Management and Learning MATLAB from Salesforce Trailhead and LinkedIn, respectively.
