Nick Finnie

Nick Finnie has extensive work experience in the field of intellectual property and patents. Nick is currently the Head of Intellectual Property at ADC Therapeutics. Prior to joining ADC Therapeutics, Nick served as Senior IP Counsel at Lonza from September 2019 to July 2021. Before that, they worked as a Legal Director at Pinsent Masons from April 2019 to September 2019. Nick also has significant experience working at Novartis, where they held various roles including Head of Platforms IP, R&D IP, Head of Legal Operations and IP Management, Head of Corporate Patents, Global Head of Intellectual Property, and Chief Patent Counsel - Vaccines and Diagnostics Division. Nick joined Novartis in 2008 and remained with the company until March 2019. Prior to joining Novartis, Nick worked as a Patent Attorney at Pizzeys, Unilever, FB Rice & Co., and D Young & Co. Nick began their career as a Trainee Patent Attorney at J A Kemp & Co. Nick Finnie obtained their Bachelor's degree and PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge, where they studied from 1989 to 1995. Nick later obtained additional certifications as a UK Patent Attorney in 2004 and as a European Patent Attorney from the European Patent Office in 1999. Nick also holds the title of US Patent Agent from USPTO, and it is unknown when they obtained this certification. Although there is mention of becoming an Australian Patent Attorney, no information regarding the institution or the year of obtaining that certification is provided.
