Engineering and Quality Manager at Advanced Animal Diagnostics

Tom Hessler, MSME has a long and varied work experience. From 1997 to 1995, they worked as a Manufacturing Project Engineer at Boeing and a Fluid Power and Pneumatic Systems Application Engineer at Burkert Contromatic. From 1995 to 2004, they were the President and Owner of Hessler Consulting, Inc. During this period, they designed, built and tested ophthalmologic surgical components, assemblies and devices, and also led problem recovery efforts. From 2004 to 2009, they worked as a Senior R&D Engineer at Alcon Laboratories, Inc., where they led design, development and manufacturing start-up of high volume consumable ophthalmologic surgical devices from concept through product release and sustaining. Tom also created key joining processes including hot plate, ultrasonic and laser welding technology. From 2009 to 2012, they were a Senior Principal Engineer at Pfizer, where they led design, development, and manufacturing engineering of automated fluidic drug delivery systems from concept through validation and product release. Tom also managed and co-developed key technology with outside technology company, and performed fluid analysis, both analytical (numerical calculations) and CFD modeling. Finally, from 2017 to present, they have been the Engineering and Quality Manager at Advanced Animal Diagnostics, where they lead manufacturing and quality engineering for all product lines (consumables and devices), and develops state of the art manufacturing processes.

Tom Hessler obtained their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach in 1994. Tom then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the same university, which they completed in 2001.
