Job description

Advanced Composites, Inc. an Iso 9001:2015 and AS9100D company for the design and manufacturing of composite structures is looking for a full-time Accountant. The position is a full-time salaried position working M-F 8:00-5:00 pm and reports to the CFO.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Accounting Administrator and Office Manager positions.

  • Processes payroll, inputs and records employee work hours, prepares payroll, determine employee earnings, calculate employee withholding (i.e. state taxes, federal taxes, social security, retirement, and insurance)

  • Issues payroll checks, maintains year to date records of wages, deductions, taxes, and benefits

  • Maintains record of work time, sick time, annual leave, and comp time accrual and usage

  • Oversees and reviews regular reconciliations of asset and liability accounts, including deposit and raw material accounts as well as accounts payable and other current liabilities

  • Reviews delinquent receivables and oversees collection activities for delinquent customers

  • Monitors cash collections, petty cash disbursements, and other accounting transactions to ensure that adequate controls are in place to protect the fiscal integrity of the division

  • May conduct or assist in audits to analyze data and assess efficiency, cost effectiveness, and productivity of systems

  • Develops financial reports and provides program information

  • Acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Company’s operations and assist in performing financial analysis and variance reporting

  • Assists in special projects, such as system implementations, process improvements, and regulatory changes, as needed

  • Provides support and answer inquiries from employees

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • Extremely organized with attention to detail
  • Must be accurate, thrive in quick changing, and fast paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of accounting and payroll principles and processes
  • Ability to work independently as well as take initiative and work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Competency using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Able to establish and maintain comprehensive records and files
