Dale McGrew has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Dale has held various leadership roles in multiple companies. From 1989 to 1992, they worked as a Demo System Engineer at VPL Research, a leading provider of virtual reality products and services. Dale then joined VPL Research, Inc. as a Systems Engineer in 1991, where they were responsible for system integration and quality assurance for marketing, sales, and manufacturing. After that, Dale co-founded Gravity, Inc. in 1992 and served as the company's President. In this role, they managed the production of interactive 3D graphics technology and content for game products and advanced technology demonstrations. Gravity grew significantly during Dale's tenure, working with clients like Intel, IBM, and Disney. In 1999, frogdesign acquired Gravity, and Dale became the VP of Production in the new division. After leaving frogdesign in 2000, Dale co-founded GoLightly Community in 2002, where they served as the President, CTO, and Co-founder. The company focused on building community and communication tools for membership organizations, primarily non-profits. In 2012, they joined Advanced Solutions International as part of their Communities, Social Networking & Engagement team. Dale's most recent experience is as the Co-Founder and CTO of We Vote since 2014. We Vote is a nonpartisan, open-source platform that aims to create a digital voter guide informed by users' interests and trusted sources.
Dale McGrew began their education at Palos Verdes High School from 1983 to 1987, where they completed their high school education. Following this, Dale attended UC San Diego from 1987 to 1991, where they graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. During their time at UC San Diego, Dale studied Philosophy, Cognitive Science, and Physics as their fields of study.
