David Macfarlane

David Macfarlane has a wealth of experience in the field of nuclear medicine and theranostics. David has held various roles throughout their career, starting as a Staff Specialist and Deputy Director at the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital from 1995 to 2015. During this time, they were involved in strategic planning, preparation of briefs and business cases, and represented the department on various committees.

After their tenure at the hospital, David worked as the Director of Specialised PET Services Queensland for Queensland Health from 2006 to 2015. David was responsible for the preparation of successful business cases, designing and implementing the service, and setting the strategic direction.

David also served as a Physician of Nuclear Medicine and PET at Queensland Diagnostic Imaging from 2016 to 2017, providing imaging services and optimizing service delivery. David then moved on to Austin Health, Molecular Imaging & Therapy, where they worked as a Sessional Relieving Nuclear Medicine Physician from 2017 to 2017, gaining experience in PET neuroimaging and advanced oncology.

In 2018, David joined GenesisCare Theranostics as a Nuclear Medicine Specialist, where they worked with radiopharmaceutical therapy and played a role in the development of theranostics. David also worked as a Consultant for various theranostics practices, focusing on practice and protocol development.

David's most recent role was as a Nuclear Medicine Physician at Lumus Imaging from 2016 to present. David is currently involved with AdvanCell Isotopes Pty Ltd as a Scientific Consultant for their Scientific Advisory Board, with a focus on bringing targeted alpha emitter therapy into routine oncology care.
