Monica Perez, Esq. has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Monica started their career in 2008 as an Operations Analyst at Goldman Sachs & Co, where they were responsible for preparing and reviewing legal documentation for equity derivatives transactions. Monica later transitioned to the role of Client Management Settlements Analyst, where they acted as a Client Relationship Manager.

In 2013, Monica interned at the Legal Aid Society of Puerto Rico, where they conducted client interviews, performed legal research, and drafted various legal documents. Monica continued their legal work at the Department of Consumer Affairs (DACO) in 2014, serving as a Law Clerk. In this role, they assisted administrative judges, conducted investigations based on consumer complaints, and drafted legal documents.

Monica returned to the Legal Aid Society of Puerto Rico later in 2014, this time as a Law Clerk at the Legal Aid Clinic. Monica researched and drafted briefs and memoranda in criminal law cases, providing support in criminal litigation for indigent clients.

Their most recent position is at Advantage Insurance, where they initially served as a Client Services Manager, handling life insurance policy issuance and client relationship management in Puerto Rico. Monica then took on the role of Head of Client Services, acting as the lead client relationship manager for clients across the enterprise. In this position, they provided leadership and supervision to Client Service Managers, reviewed financial statements, and liaised with banking and investment brokers.

Currently, they hold the position of Associate General Counsel at Advantage Insurance, a role they started in October 2022. In this capacity, they bring their legal expertise to the company and contributes to its overall legal and regulatory compliance.

Throughout their career, Monica Perez, Esq. has accumulated valuable experience in legal research, client relationship management, and the preparation of legal documents. Monica has also demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to provide guidance to other professionals in the field.

Monica Perez, Esq. began their education by obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. Monica attended the university from 2004 to 2008.

Following their undergraduate studies, Monica pursued a law degree and enrolled at the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, School of Law in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Monica successfully graduated with a Doctor of Law (JD) degree in 2014.

Monica has also obtained several additional certifications throughout their career. In 2015, they were admitted to the Puerto Rico State Bar, enabling their to practice law in Puerto Rico. In 2016, Monica was admitted to the District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and became a Public Notary in Puerto Rico.

Furthermore, Monica acquired the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMLS) certification from the ACAMS institution in June 2019. These additional certifications showcase their dedication and commitment to their legal profession.
