Sumner L Norman

Sumner L Norman is an accomplished researcher and entrepreneur in the fields of neurotechnology and brain-machine interfaces. Currently serving as Co-Founder and CEO of Forest Neurotech since January 2023, Sumner also holds positions as a Visiting Researcher and Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Caltech, where significant developments in minimally invasive neuroimaging techniques and real-time brain-machine interfaces have been achieved. In addition to contributions as Chief Scientist and Scientific Advisor at AE Studio, leading neurotech research strategies and partnerships, Sumner's prior experience includes roles at Convergent Research as Entrepreneur in Residence and as Managing Editor & Science Writer for NPR's "The Loh Down on Science." Educational background includes a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UC Irvine and postdoctoral training in Neural Engineering at Caltech.
