Jim Schaeffer

Jim Schaeffer has over two decades of experience in the asset management industry, with a focus on leveraged finance and distressed debt. Jim currently serves as the Global Head of Leveraged Finance at Aegon Asset Management since January 2020. Prior to that, they held the role of Deputy Chief Investment Officer at AEGON USA Investment Management from January 2018 to January 2020. Before joining AEGON, Jim worked as the Director of Distressed Debt at AEGON USA Investment Management.

Jim Schaeffer earned an MBA degree in Finance and Private Equity from The Wharton School, where they attended from 1999 to 2001.
