Rahul Kumar

Rahul Kumar has a diverse work experience starting from their current role as a Senior Backend Engineer at Aerospike, Inc. since December 2019. In this position, they are responsible for building Aerospike Graph and leading the development of Aerospike Connect for Spark and Aerospike Connect for Presto/Trino products.

Prior to their current role, Rahul worked at MarkMonitor from August 2015 to 2019 as a Senior Information Retrieval Engineer. Here, they developed product features to support custom user-defined data tagging operations using MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and RabbitMq.

Before joining MarkMonitor, Rahul worked at BCL Technologies as a Software Engineer from July 2013 to August 2015. Rahul researched and developed an NLP system to extract and tag financial data from unstructured sources, receiving funding of 1 million USD.

Rahul also has experience as a Research Assistant under Prof. Chris Jermaine at Rice University from August 2010 to June 2013.

Earlier in their career, Rahul worked at Arcot Systems as a Senior Software Engineer from May 2010 to July 2010, and as a Software Engineer from August 2008 to May 2010.

Throughout their career, Rahul has gained expertise in backend engineering, information retrieval, NLP, and research assistance.

Rahul Kumar completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Information Science/Studies from RV College Of Engineering, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. Rahul further pursued their education at Rice University, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from 2010 to 2013.
