Joan Picanyol

Joan Picanyol is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in data and platform engineering, DevOps, and software architecture. Currently serving as Principal Engineer at Aetion since 2022, Joan leads data and platform engineering efforts. Prior to this role, Joan was the Head of DevOps and Cloud Architect at ELEM Biotech from 2020 to 2022, focusing on MVP design and launch. As the Founder and Lead Architect of BeTIX by ExpertusTech from 2013 to 2020, Joan designed and implemented a ticketing platform for large-scale operators, achieving high service levels for first-tier clients. Additional experience includes significant roles at Ticketmaster, Indra Espacio S.A., Indra Systems, T-Systems Iberia, and Ericsson Wireless Research Laboratory, demonstrating a strong background in system integration, project management, and technical leadership. Joan holds a Master of Engineering in Telecommunications Engineering and a Postgraduate degree in Finance from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, as well as educational credentials from Columbia University.
