David Hawkins

Life Vice President at AFC Bournemouth

David Hawkins has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. David started their career as an apprentice engineer at Vickers-Armstrongs, where they received training in various engineering skills. After completing their apprenticeship, they joined Rank Hovis Ltd as a mill engineer, eventually rising to the position of foreman. Due to health issues, they retired from Rank Hovis Ltd in 1999. In 1988, they became a member of BashleyRydal Cricket Club and served as secretary, chairman, and later life vice president. Throughout their time at the club, they were involved in budgeting, maintenance, ground preparation, and promoting youth cricket. Additionally, David Hawkins has been a dedicated supporter of AFC Bournemouth, serving as a life vice president and actively sponsoring matches and youth teams.

David Hawkins attended St Mark's Junior School Southampton from 1951 to 1957, where they studied 11 plus. David then attended Central Secondary School from 1957 to 1961, focusing on GCE 'O' Level. Lastly, from 1961 to 1966, they studied City & Guilds Engineering at Southampton College of Technology.
