Bonsa Bekele has a diverse work experience in various roles. In 2014, Bonsa worked as a Conference Event Coordinator at HRLHA until 2018. From 2019 to 2020, Bonsa served as an Administrative Assistant at Physioworx Physiotherapy Clinic and also worked as a Customer Service Representative (Coach) at Scarborough Basketball Association. In 2021, Bonsa was a Summer Camp Counsellor (Event Coordinator) at The Child Experience (TCE). In 2022, Bonsa worked as a Social Media Associate at African Impact Initiative. Bonsa's most recent work experiences include being a Research Assistant at York University and a Black Student Engagement - Event Coordinator at University of Toronto Scarborough, both starting in 2023.

Bonsa Bekele completed a double major in Molecular Biology, Disease and Immunology and Psychology in the field of Life Sciences at the University of Toronto from 2021 to 2025. In addition to their formal education, Bonsa obtained various certifications such as Refugees and Forced Migration from York University in June 2023, Business Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship (I.C.E Training) from The Beanstalk Project in April 2021, Communication Skills from The Beanstalk Project in March 2021, WHMIS from YOW Canada Inc. in January 2021, Customer Service from The Beanstalk Project in October 2020, Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps from the Ontario Government | Gouvernement de l’Ontario in January 2020, and CPR/AED/First Aid from Canadian Business Health Management Inc. in October 2019.
