Pieter Bruwer

Pieter Bruwer has a diverse work experience in various positions and companies. Pieter started their career as a Candidate Engineer at Sasol, where they gained experience in maintenance and production electro-mechanics. Pieter then worked as a Foreman and Chief Foreman in underground production, managing maintenance activities and overseeing a team of artisans and maintenance operators. At Sasol, they also served as a Project Engineer, managing capital and infrastructure projects and handling budgeting and sourcing of new equipment. Moving on to PPC Cement, Pieter worked as a Plant Engineer, focusing on safety regulations and plant engineering. Currently, they hold the position of Head Operational Excellence at Afrimat, where they are responsible for operational efficiency. Pieter previously served as the Group Maintenance Manager, overseeing maintenance operations, and as an Operations Manager, managing the Cape Lime Langvlei operation. Throughout their career, Pieter has demonstrated a strong focus on operational excellence and maintenance management.

Pieter Bruwer has an extensive education history. Pieter obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Stellenbosch Business School in the years 2020 to 2021. Prior to this, Pieter completed a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Stellenbosch University from 2007 to 2010. Pieter also holds a Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) in Factories from the Department of Labour, which they obtained in the year 2015. In 2013, Pieter obtained another GCC, this time in Mines & Works, from the Department of Mineral Resources. Before pursuing higher education, Pieter attended Robertson High School, where they completed their high school education before 2006. Pieter also possesses additional certification in the form of a Government Certificate of Competency: Mines and Works, obtained from the Department of Mineral Resources, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not available.
