Todd Bassett, MBA, CPHR has over 25 years of experience in business and human resources leadership, with a focus on achieving business outcomes through people. Todd has held various senior roles in both public and private sectors, including Vice President of Human Resources at AgeCare, Instructor at Mount Royal University, Chief Human Resources Officer at the City of Medicine Hat, Chief People Officer and Chief Safety Officer at Avenue Living Communities, and Partner of HR Services at the University of Calgary. Todd has also worked as an independent HR leader, providing consulting services to small and medium-sized organizations. Prior to that, they held leadership positions at The City of Calgary and TD Bank Financial Group. Todd started their career in commodity trading.

Todd Bassett has a diverse education history that spans several years. In 1987, they obtained a Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Registered Representative certification from the Canadian Securities Institute. In 1991, they acquired a Private Pilot License from Transport Canada. Continuing their education, Todd completed the Personal Financial Planner program at the Institute of Canadian Bankers (ICB) in 1997. Two years later, in 1999, they earned a Fellowship of the Institute of Canadian Bankers (FICB) from the same institution.

Moving forward, Todd pursued higher education at Dalhousie University, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General. This degree was completed from 2002 to 2006. Furthermore, in 2009, Todd gained the Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation from CPHR Alberta.

In recent years, Todd has focused on professional development courses at the Queens IRC. In 2010, they attended the Foundations of Labour Relations program, and in 2012, they completed the Change Management and Organization Development Foundations programs.
