Phillip Hyatt began their career in 2014 as a Research Assistant at the BYU Robotics and Dynamics Laboratory. In 2016, they became a Robotics Intern at Draper, where they worked for four years. During that time, they progressed to the role of Senior Member Of Technical Staff, where they worked on guidance algorithms for spacecraft, as well as motion/path planning, GPS denied localization, mapping, and AI for small drones. Phillip also developed C++/Python code and leveraged Continuous Integration and unit testing to maintain large code bases. In 2018, they took on the role of Teaching Assistant at Brigham Young University. In 2022, they began working as a Software Engineer at Agility Robotics.
Phillip Hyatt obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University in 2016. Phillip then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Mechanical Engineering - Robotics from the same university, which they completed in 2020.
