Javier Ribera

Javier Ribera started their work experience in 2013 as a Web Developer Intern at boolino. Javier later worked as a Display Lab Research Intern at Samsung Electronics America in 2017 and 2018. In 2019, they joined Samsung Electronics America as a Sr. Algorithm Engineer, where they conducted research on Machine/Deep Learning models and patented an objective visual quality evaluation for Samsung's display pipeline. In 2016, Javier worked as a Research Assistant at Purdue University, where they developed a new loss function for object localization and utilized CNNs and FCNs for plant location and counting. From 2020 to 2022, Javier served as the CTO at Oqullo, a company that specializes in location analytics and business intelligence for Commercial Real Estate. Currently, they are working as an Engineering Manager and Sr. Computer Vision Engineer at Agot.

Javier Ribera completed their Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University from the year 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, they pursued a combined Bachelor's and Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, spanning from 2009 to 2014. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Venture Deals Course from NovoEd, which was offered by Kauffman Fellows & TechStars, in August 2020.
