WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for an Analytical Chemist to join the team. In this role you will be  reporting to the Senior Chemist and we require a suitably experienced Analytical Chemist to be based in Bintulu, Sarawak Malaysia. You will be responsible for laboratory chemical analysis and testing activities in support of our client’s requirements in the region. This is a hands-on role requiring a practical, pragmatic and flexible approach, in all aspects, to ensure successful team working.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical analysis and testing activities ensuring on time delivery to meet the client’s requirements including technical support or advice if necessary.
  • Ensure all activities are performed within the AHKES quality system.
  • Prepare chemical analysis test reports in accordance with the quality system and AHK LIMS system.
  • Provide training for laboratory staff to ensure continuity of service where required.
  • Deputise for the senior chemist as and when required.
  • Comply with all local environmental, employment and health and safety legislation in performance of your work.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE 

Required Work Experience

  • Five plus years’ experience in a full service solid fuels laboratory environment. It is expected the suitable candidate will have experience of modern instrumental techniques such as ICPMS, EDXRF, Ion chromatography as well as more traditional proximate and ultimate analysis, all within an ISO 17025 environment.

  • Experience in laboratory equipment routine maintenance.

Required Qualifications

  • A suitable academic college or university technical degree, preferably in analytical chemistry.
