WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our team in Europe. The Business Development Manager is tasked with driving sales and managing business development activities for Metals, Minerals and Circular Economy Materials across all services offered by Alfred H Knight. This role aims to integrate services from multiple business units within Europe, encompassing field inspection, sampling across Europe, and assaying services in the Netherlands laboratory, to cater to the diverse needs of our customers with local, regional, and global requirements.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE 

  • Required Skills and Knowledge: Technical knowledge or experience in trading and the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) services related to Cargo Inspections, Weighing, Sampling, Moisture Determination and Preparation (WSMDP), and laboratory testing services.

  • Required Competencies: Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to articulate ideas to various stakeholders effectively.

  • Required Work Experience: At least five years of sales experience in the TIC industry, with a strong preference for experience in commodity inspection, sampling, and testing services.

  • Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required, with a university degree in a related field being desirable.

  • Required Languages: Fluency in English is required, with proficiency in another European language (especially Dutch or German) being an advantage.

  • Travel / Rotation Requirements: Weekly travel throughout North West Europe, quarterly travel to the UK, and regular trips abroad from Europe.
