Sankar Rao Amburkar

Sankar Rao Amburkar has over a decade of experience in product management. Sankar is currently the Product Management at Airbase. Sankar was previously the Vice President of Product Management at Instamojo from June 2018 to November 2019.

At Instamojo, Sankar was responsible for delivering and success of all key products including mojoPayments, mojoCapital and mojoCommerce. Some of the key achievements during their time there are:

- Delivering the hugely successful sachet loans product. Owning end-to-end responsibilities including user research, product delivery, product marketing, adoption (GMV and Net revenue). Marketing the product to existing customer base and 110Cr worth of loans are disbursed till Aug 2019.

- Delivering simple and innovative product of medium enterprises such as virtual account numbers (VANs) for NEFT that solved a key pain point of payment reconciliation. This helped increase the overall monthly GMV by 12-15%.

- Brought parity between the desktop web and Android mobile app and doubled the weekly active user (WAUs) on mobile app.

Before joining Instamojo, Sankar was the Product Head - Ola Fleet and Partner Acquisition at Ola (ANI Technologies Pvt. Ltd) from April 2016 to April 2018. Sankar was also the Director of Product Management at CommonFloor.com from October 2014 to March 2016.

Sankar Rao Amburkar has a Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A.) from Bharathidasan University in Computer Science and a Bachelor in Science from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College in Physics.
