Sr. Principal Engineer - Chief Engineer at Airbus US Space & Defense

Jorge Delgado has a comprehensive work experience in the aerospace industry. Jorge is currently employed at Airbus US Space & Defense, Inc. as a Sr. Principal Engineer - Chief Engineer. Prior to this, Jorge was the Director/Owner of Delgado Space Technologies LLC. Jorge also held the position of Vice President at Apollo Fusion from 2018 to 2022.

Jorge has experience working at OneWeb as a Principal Engineer - Spacecraft Architecture and at OneWeb Satellites as a Propulsion Engineering Manager. At OneWeb Satellites, they were responsible for the development of the first-generation OneWeb system, overseeing the design and development phase and ensuring requirement adherence and robust design for mass production.

Earlier in their career, Jorge worked at SSL (Space Systems Loral) where they held various roles including Electric Propulsion Architect, Manager - Electric Propulsion Equipment Section, Engineering Specialist, Sr. R&D Engineer, and Mechanical Engineer - Propulsion Products. In these roles, they were responsible for developing technology roadmaps, leading a team of engineers, and managing the integration, test, and flight of propulsion subsystems for multiple spacecraft programs.

Throughout their career, Jorge consistently demonstrated their expertise in propulsion systems, including electric propulsion. Jorge also has experience in spacecraft architecture, requirement adherence, design and development, and reducing costs while maintaining reliability for high volume production.

Jorge Delgado pursued their education, starting in 2000, at Penn State University. Jorge obtained a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering in 2004. Following that, Delgado continued their academic journey at Purdue University from 2004 to 2006. During this time, they pursued an MS degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics with a specialization in Propulsion.
