Head Of Pricing & Marketing - Enterprise Business at Airtel Uganda

Simon P. Akugizibwe has a diverse work experience spanning different companies and roles. Simon.P.Akugizibwe started their career as a Support Engineer at CNS Technologies in 2008. Following that, they joined Warid Telecom Uganda as a Senior Executive in Products and Services, where they achieved milestones by developing and pricing mobile internet services.

In 2013, Simon joined Airtel Uganda as a Senior Marketing Executive and later moved up the ranks to become the Assistant Marketing Manager for Data. During their tenure, they played a significant role in coordinating the commercial launch of Airtel Uganda's mobile internet 3.75G. Simon.P.Akugizibwe also worked as a Marketing Manager for Data and Devices, focusing on portfolio management, strategic planning, innovation, and business analysis.

Simon's entrepreneurial journey began in 2018 when they co-founded HUB360, serving as the CEO. At HUB360, they contributed to the establishment and growth of the company. Additionally, they worked at Wandulu Productions as the Executive Producer and Head of Strategic Oversight, providing strategic planning and overseeing the operations of the media house.

In March 2021, Simon rejoined Airtel Uganda as the Head of Pricing & Marketing for the Enterprise Business. Prior to this role, they held positions as the Head of Products and Head of Data within the company. Throughout their career, Simon has demonstrated their expertise in pricing, marketing, product management, and strategic planning.

Simon P. Akugizibwe has an extensive education history in the field of marketing and telecommunications engineering. Simon.P.Akugizibwe obtained their BSc. in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) in 2007. Prior to that, they achieved their UACE certification from Namilyango College School in 2002, which included O and A level qualifications.

In terms of marketing education, Simon enrolled in various programs offered by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). In 2013, they completed the Professional Certificate in Marketing (CIM) at Level 4. In 2015, they obtained their Professional Diploma in Marketing (CIM) at Level 6 with a bias in Digital Strategy. Additionally, they achieved a Module Award in Strategic Marketing and a Professional Diploma in Marketing (Digital Strategy) from CIM in the same year.

Continuing their education in marketing, Simon pursued a Master's of International Business Administration (MIBA) in Global Management at Paris ESLSCA Business School from 2017 to 2019. Simon.P.Akugizibwe also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Management from the same school in 2019.

Simon further enhanced their marketing expertise by completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Marketing at Level 7 offered by CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing from 2019 to 2023.

In addition to their formal education, Simon gained several additional certifications, including Google Digital Skills for Africa from IAB Europe in 2018. Simon.P.Akugizibwe also participated in projects related to platform migration with Airtel Uganda, received CIM Module Awards in Digital Strategy and Mastering Metrics, and obtained a certificate of participation from the Uganda Communications Commission for speaking at the UCC NCC 2016 conference.
