Ian Massingham

Ian Massingham has a long and varied work experience. Ian began their career in 1996 at Planet Online as a Web Hosting & Data Center Operations. In 2001, they joined Cable & Wireless as Head of Hosting Solutions Services, and subsequently held various roles such as Transformation Programme Director, Public Sector and System Integrator Data Centre Specialist, Head of Specialist Sales, Head of Hosting and Security Business Development, and Head of Sales Service Group. In 2009, they moved to Cable & Wireless Worldwide as Interim Head of Platform Design and Head of Hosting Technical Services. In 2010, they joined EMC as Systems Engineering Manager - EMEA Service Providers & Outsourcers and CTO, EMEA Service Providers. In 2013, they joined Amazon Web Services (AWS) as Director, Startup Solutions Architecture, Director, AWS Evangelism & Developer Relations, Worldwide Technical & Developer Evangelism, and Chief Evangelist - Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA). In 2021, they joined MongoDB as VP, Developer Relations. Ian is currently VP, Developer Relations & Community at Aiven, where they are building and leading the Developer Relations, Community & Startup GTM function.

Ian Massingham received their education from Northallerton Grammar School from 1988 to 1992 and from the University of Leeds from 1992 to 1996, where they studied Computer Science. Ian has obtained several certifications from Amazon Web Services, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional Level in September 2014, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate Level in May 2014, AWS Business Professional and AWS Technical Professional in December 2013, and AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate Level in March 2014.
