Erdal Caglayan

Erdal Caglayan has a strong background in product development and technology, with extensive experience in the smart home industry. Erdal began their career as a Senior Design Engineer at National Molding, LLC. in 1998 before moving on to XtremeMac in 2002, where they served as the VP of R&D. In 2007, they joined Imation as the Director of Product Development before co-founding Stem Innovation in 2010. At Stem Innovation, Erdal led the company as the VP of Product Development, focusing on the development of innovative smart home technology products. In 2013, they co-founded Zendo with funding from Alarm.com and served as the VP of Product Development until 2016, when Alarm.com acquired Zendo and Erdal became the Technology Director of the Design Studio. In this role, they are responsible for the development of connected home devices and products for Alarm.com. Erdal Caglayan completed their high school education at TED Ankara Koleji from 1977 to 1984, focusing on Math and Science. Erdal then pursued a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, CAD/CAM, Robotics & Automation at Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi (Middle East Technical University) from 1984 to 1993.
