Kristy Shifflett

Kristy Shifflett has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. Kristy has worked at Albemarle County since 2014, starting as a Budget & Special Programs Analyst and then transitioning to roles such as Senior Project Manager for Strategic Planning and Interim Deputy Chief Financial Officer. Kristy has also served as the Director of the Project Management Office and Director of Performance & Strategic Planning. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Operating Officer at Albemarle County. Prior to their work at Albemarle County, they worked as a Business Auditor at the company from 2012 to 2013. Additionally, they have experience at Deloitte Consulting, where they worked as a Consultant and Senior Consultant between 2002 and 2010. Kristy is also an Instructor at the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service at the University of Virginia, focusing on performance improvement and project management.

Kristy Shifflett graduated from Radford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication in the year 2000. In addition to their degree, they have obtained certifications including a Change Management Practitioner certification from Prosci in February 2020. Kristy is also scheduled to pursue the Senior Executive Institute in 2023 at the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service at the University of Virginia.
