Alireza Jafari

Alireza Jafari is a Senior Reservoir Engineer specializing in Resource Recovery and Subsurface Applications at the Alberta Energy Regulator since June 2023. Previously, Alireza served as a Reservoir Engineering Researcher focused on Simulation at InnoTech Alberta from November 2016 to June 2023, and at Alberta Innovates - Technology Futures from March 2010 to November 2016. Alireza's research contributions include the integration of Geochemical Monitoring and Reservoir Modeling, particularly regarding the impact of fractures in the Weyburn Reservoir, as well as numerical simulations related to CO2 flood enhanced oil recovery and storage capacity dynamics. Alireza holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta, earned between 2006 and 2010.
