Varvara Belenko serves as the Program Coordinator for Alberta Environmental Network, focusing on deep engagement in climate action through facilitation and community outreach since January 2023. Previously, Varvara held board member positions with the United Nations Association in Canada - Calgary Branch and as a founding board member of Women in Urbanism Canada, emphasizing local connections to sustainable development goals and equity in urban environments. Varvara has experience as a Peer Support Specialist at The Women's Centre of Calgary and as a Team Lead for Project Neutral's Talk Climate to Me initiative. Additional roles include a Waste Management Consultant at S-Cubed Environmental and various consulting positions, notably as Lead Urban Planning Consultant with independent projects and Team Lead at NOVAYA Labs, where Varvara shaped urban governance policies. Varvara's educational background includes a PostGraduate Certificate in Spatial Planning from UCL and a Master of Science in Economics and Management from National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.
