UI Lead at Alcion

Alex Vorbau has over 25 years of experience in various roles within the technology industry.

Alex started their career at Hewlett-Packard's Corporate IT department as a Software Developer, where they worked on automating the management of critical systems. Alex also provided consulting and support for HP's global operations.

Alex then moved on to HP Labs, where they held the positions of Web Developer/Software Engineer and Senior Researcher. In these roles, they focused on social and mobile technologies, designing and building innovative software solutions.

After their time at HP Labs, Alex joined HP Cloud Services as a Senior UX Web Engineer, contributing to the development of the HP Public Cloud service.

Alex then joined Maginatics, Inc, an enterprise cloud storage startup, as a UX Designer/Engineer. There, they designed and implemented user-facing components and worked closely with engineers and product managers to wireframe and implement the web-based management UI.

Following Maginatics, Alex worked at EMC, where they took on the role of UI Developer/Designer. Alex was involved in designing and implementing the UI for a cloud portal integration project and also worked on creating a UI component library and style guide.

At Veeam Software, Alex served as the UI Engineering Manager, responsible for leading the UI development team.

Their most recent position is at Alcion, where they currently work as the UI Lead.

Throughout their career, Alex has demonstrated a strong focus on user experience, UI design, and frontend development.

Alex Vorbau earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, graduating in 1995.
