Aldo A Martinez has extensive work experience in the field of clinical research and medical affairs. Aldo A started their career as a PhD Student at the University of New South Wales in 2003. Aldo A then worked at the Institute for Eye Research Ltd as a Vision Scientist, where they played a significant role in translating research into clinical trials and developing patented theories that led to new products for correcting visual problems in children. In 2009, they joined Alcon as the Head of Clinical Research at the Asia Center for Excellence, where they established a clinical research facility in Singapore and ensured Asian input into global R, D&E projects. Aldo A later took on roles as the Senior Principal Clinical Scientist, Global Brand Medical Affairs Lead for Intraocular Lenses, and Director of Surgical Medical Affairs Strategy & Communications at Alcon. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Clinical Research at Alcon.
Aldo A Martinez has a strong educational background in optometry. Aldo A received a Bachelor's degree in Optometry from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in 1998. Aldo A then pursued a PhD in Optometry at UNSW from 2003 to 2007. Following that, they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Business and Technology (MBT) from UNSW from 2007 to 2012. In addition to their academic achievements, Aldo has also obtained certifications in "Giving and Receiving Feedback" and "Unconscious Bias" from LinkedIn in 2023 and 2021 respectively.
