Tarangsri Toey Nivitchanyong is an experienced scientist currently serving as a Staff Scientist at Alector since January 2020, where responsibilities include managing a program focused on developing and engineering antibodies to enhance brain penetration and previously leading efforts to improve the manufacturability of therapeutic Fc-fusion proteins. Prior to Alector, Tarangsri held the position of Scientist III at Five Prime Therapeutics, Inc., leading the development of transposase technology for producing large quantities of antibodies and overseeing a team in research cell line development. Additional experience includes roles such as Scientist at the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, where Tarangsri initiated R&D activities for biosimilar production, and as a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University, where foundational work involved cell line engineering and enhancing recombinant protein expression. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University.
