David Smiton

David Smiton has a diverse and extensive work experience. David started their career in the Royal Air Force as an Executive Officer before transitioning to roles in the private sector. David worked at Beresford (UK) Ltd as a Technical Designer, followed by positions at Computer Task Group as a Consultant and Senior Consultant. David then joined T-Mobile, where they held various roles, including IT Director Chief of Staff and Manager of BI & Corporate Systems Development. David continued their career at EE as the Head of Desktop, Collaboration & Retail IT Infrastructure, as well as the Head of Digital Channels Design & Development. David also spent time at the BBC as the Head of Security & Compliance Programmes. In their most recent roles, they joined NGA Human Resources, an Alight company, where they served as the GDPR & Security Programme Manager and Director of Compliance & Delivery. Currently, David is the Vice President Security Compliance at Alight Solutions. Throughout their career, they have been responsible for overseeing security, compliance, data privacy, and program management initiatives.

David Smiton holds a BSc in Information Systems Management from Bournemouth University, which they obtained from 1990 to 1994. David also possesses an MSc in Information Technology & Management from Sheffield Hallam University, which they completed from 1997 to 2000.
