Kane Gao

Head of Language at Allegravita

Kane Gao has held a number of positions in the language and translation industry. From 2017 to present, they have been the Head of Language at Allegravita. From 2015 to 2017, they were a Translator/Interpreter at Chinese Languages Management Group, where they were responsible for the language pair of Mandarin (Simplified) and English, and projects related to the high-tech industry. From 2008 to 2015, they were the Head of Research and Language at Illuminant Partners, a Beijing-based (later relocated to New York City) marketing and public relations agency. From 2007 to 2008, they were the Feature Editor/Translation Editor at Vino Vogue magazine. From 2006 to present, they have been a Freelancer, doing part time translation and interpretation jobs for magazines, individuals, and book publishers, as well as software and video game localization projects through translation agencies and hobbyist groups. Finally, since 2013, they have been a Graduate Student at New York University, studying for a master degree in translation (Chinese - English).

Kane Gao obtained their Bachelor degree in Computer Science from Northeastern University (CN) between 2001 and 2005. Kane then pursued a Master's Degree in Translation (Chinese - English) from New York University between 2013 and 2014.
