POSITION OVERVIEW

Alliance Automation is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Controller to oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and the development of internal control policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting, proven leadership capabilities, and expertise in various financial systems and tools.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

1. Financial Management & Compliance:
   1. Oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting.
   2. Assist in budget and forecast preparation.
   3. Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures.
   4. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
2. Specialized Accounting Functions:
   1. Manage and oversee the implementation and maintenance of Percentage of Completion Accounting.
   2. Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of project costs, revenues, and margins.
   3. Oversee the preparation and filing of all sales and use tax returns.
   4. Ensure compliance with all state and local sales tax regulations.
   5. Manage sales tax audits and resolve related issues.
3. Financial Close & Reporting:
   1. Lead the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
   2. Review account reconciliations and journal entries.
   3. Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues.
   4. Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for business decisions.
   5. Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for significant deviations.
4. Team Leadership & Development:
   1. Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
   2. Provide guidance and training to accounting staff.
   3. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
5. Management of Outsourced Functions:

   1. Oversee the annual tax return preparation.

   2. Coordinate annual audits and reviews.

   3. Manage quarterly filings and R&D tax credit processes.

   4. Manage the relationship with the external CPA firm.

Standard Job Duties:

• Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.

• Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report.

• Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all sales activities.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

2. CPA preferred.

3. Strong knowledge of GAAP.

4. Extensive experience with Percentage of Completion Accounting.

5. Proficient in managing sales and use tax compliance.

6. Proven experience leading and managing an accounting team.

7. Expertise in budgeting and month-end close processes.

8. Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools, including NetSuite, NetSuite Planning and Budgeting, Concur, and Avalara.

9. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.

10. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

11. Experience in global accounting is a plus.

12. Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
