Michael Ward

Vice President of Public Policy and Government Relations at Alliance for Aging Research

Michael Ward has a long history of experience in public policy and government relations. Michael began their career in 2008 as the Director of Programs and Development at HONOReform, advocating for patient safety legislation and medical equipment redesign. In 2009, they joined Avalere Health as an Associate and later Senior Associate, consulting for healthcare provider, insurance, and pharmaceutical clients. In 2012, they joined the American Hospital Association as a Senior Associate Director, executing team-based research strategy for the association's federal policy advocacy agenda. In 2019, they joined Premier Inc. as a Director, serving as a subject matter expert on physician payment and the Medicare Quality Payment Program. Most recently, in 2020, they joined the Alliance for Aging Research as the Vice President of Public Policy and Government Relations, leading direct advocacy and strategic plans for engagement with Congressional offices, the White House, and agencies.

Michael Ward received their MS in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University, and their BA in Political Science and Religious Studies from Vanderbilt University.
