Chris Fenton

Chris Fenton has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering and software development. Chris started their career at Allocate Software as a Database Software Engineer, specializing in SQL server coding and performance tuning. Chris then progressed to the role of Senior Software Engineer, where they took on technical leadership within a multinational team. In this role, they also performed business analysis and technical consultancy tasks. Chris then transitioned to the role of System Owner, where they acted as a subject matter expert in complex international pay and award interpretation functionality. Chris had significant client-facing exposure and acted as both an internal and external consultant. In order to consolidate and expand the R&D team in the APAC region, Chris accepted a secondment to Allocate Software APAC, where they served as a System Owner and team leader. Chris was involved in hands-on development and designing solutions to product gaps. Currently, Chris is appointed as the Director of Engineering at Allocate, where they manage multiple teams across three countries and plays a lead role in design sessions and code reviews. Chris also provides coaching to the team and works closely with product to produce designs consistent with the product suite.

Chris Fenton has a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Manchester. Chris also holds a Master's Degree in Operational Research and Applied Statistics from The University of Salford. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained a certification as a Microsoft Certified IT Professional - Database Administrator 2008 from Microsoft, which they completed in April 2013.
