Dr. Sana Syed has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various industries. Dr. Sana currently holds the position of Vice President at Allyn Media since May 2022. Dr. Sana is also the Founder and Board Chair of Kimiya International, a non-profit organization that focuses on human rights and post-trauma healing through documentaries and programs. Dr. Sana has been in this role since May 2010.
In their previous roles, Dr. Sana Syed served as the Executive Vice President, Community Outreach at Nicholas Residential LLC from December 2018 to May 2022. Dr. Sana worked as a Course Instructor at the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas from September 2019 to July 2021. Dr. Sana also held the position of Associate Vice President for University Communications at The University of Texas at Arlington from April 2017 to November 2018.
Dr. Sana'sprevious experience includes working as the Director of the Public Information Office for the City of Dallas from August 2014 to April 2017, where they managed the city's response to the Ebola crisis and the July 7 DPD ambush. Dr. Sana also served as the Managing Editor and Public Information Officer for the City of Arlington from October 2012 to August 2014, where they supervised the city's creative team and worked closely with local and national media outlets.
Before transitioning to their roles in public relations and communications, Dr. Sana Syed worked as a News Reporter for KTVT | CBS DFW from December 2008 to March 2011 and for KDFW-TV FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth from July 2008 to November 2008. Dr. Sana also worked as a Media Manager at Staffelbach from June 2011 to September 2012.
Throughout their career, Dr. Sana Syed has gained expertise in public relations, media management, news reporting, community outreach, and communications. Dr. Sana has developed strong relationships with journalists and media outlets, both locally and nationally.
Dr. Sana Syed earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2003. Dr. Sana then pursued a Master of Science degree in Journalism at Texas Christian University from 2008 to 2011. In 2018, they completed their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Urban Planning and Public Policy from The University of Texas at Arlington.
