Ismail Simsek

Ismail Simsek has an extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Ismail is currently the Executive Medical Director at Alpine Immune Sciences, Inc. since April 2022. Prior to this, Ismail served as the Medical Director - Clinical Development at Biosplice Therapeutics from February 2019 to April 2022. Ismail also worked at Samumed, LLC, first as an Associate Medical Director - Clinical Development from March 2018 to February 2019, and then as a Study Physician - Clinical Development from August 2014 to March 2018. Before transitioning to the biotech industry, Ismail held the position of Associate Professor Of Medicine - Rheumatology at the Turkish Armed Forces, Gülhane Military Medical Academy, Ankara, Turkey from August 2003 to July 2014. Ismail has also been a Visiting Research Scholar at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases from October 2009 to October 2010, and an Internal Medicine Physician at Corlu Military Hospital from January 2000 to July 2003. Ismail's career began with a position as a Medical Director at NATO HQ Sarajevo from August 2002 to March 2003.

Ismail Simsek completed their education at Gulhane Military Medical Academy in Ankara, Turkey. From 1987 to 1993, they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the Gulhane Military Medical Academy's School of Medicine. Ismail also received a separate Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Gulhane School of Medicine during the same time period.

Additionally, Ismail Simsek pursued further specialization in their field. Ismail completed an Internal Medicine Residency Program from 1996 to 2000 at Gulhane Military Medical Academy. Furthermore, from 2003 to 2006, they underwent a Rheumatology fellowship at Gulhane Military Medical Academy.

Ismail Simsek has also obtained certifications in their specialties. In October 2000, they became Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the Turkish Ministry of Health. Later, in August 2006, they acquired the certification of being Board Certified in Rheumatology from the same institution, indicating their expertise in this area.
