Christian Lopez has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Christian is currently working as a Research Scientist at AltaMed Health Services since May 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Lecturer at California State Polytechnic University-Pomona starting from August 2019.
From January 2021 to June 2023, Christian worked as an Adjunct Professor of Political Studies at Pitzer College, where they taught courses on Latino/a health issues, politics, policy, and research methods.
At RAND Corporation, Christian served as a Policy Analyst in the RAND Health department from October 2013 to October 2018. Christian'sresponsibilities included contributing to various government-funded studies, providing technical assistance, managing participant recruitment and data collection, conducting site visits, and analyzing qualitative data.
Before their time at RAND Corporation, Christian was a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Southern California from March 2012 to May 2013. In this role, they assisted in research analyzing nonprofit organizations' network effectiveness, worked with the Tomas Rivera Policy Institute on applied research, and evaluated naturalization programs.
Christian's earlier experience includes working for the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund. Christian served as a Program Manager for Constituency Services from August 2010 to February 2012, and as a Health Fellow for Constituency Services from February 2010 to August 2010.
Christian Lopez has a diverse educational background. Christian has pursued their doctoral degree in Social Policy, specializing in the Health concentration, at The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University. Prior to this, they obtained a Master of Public Policy degree from USC Sol Price School of Public Policy, with a focus on Econometrics. For their undergraduate studies, Christian attended Pitzer College, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Studies and Chicano Studies. Christian has also been a Public Policy and International Affairs Fellow at the University of Michigan, focusing on Economics & Policy Analysis. Additionally, Christian has been a Ronald E. McNair Scholar at Claremont Graduate University, specializing in Research Methodology and Quantitative Methods.
