Senior Machine Learning Developer at AltaML

Alex Hope is a senior machine learning developer at AltaML. Prior to joining AltaML, Alex worked as a clinical health scientist at Mount Sinai Health System, overseeing a therapeutic study examining biomarkers in PTSD veterans across 12-weeks of cognitive processing therapy (CPT) in conjunction with assessments of resilient veterans who were exposed to combat. The study was funded by the DoD (Department of Defense), and recruited veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan to assess mechanisms of vulnerability and resiliency in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Before working at Mount Sinai, Alex was a teaching fellow at The City University of New York from September 2015 to December 2017. During that time, they also worked as a lab analyst at Columbia University in the City of New York from September 2015 to May 2017.

Alex Hope has a Master of Science from The University of British Columbia in Data Science and a degree from the University of Alberta in Psychology and Philosophy.

Alex Hope reports to Graham Erickson, Lead Machine Learning Developer. They are on a team with Timothy Lau - Associate Machine Learning Developer, Sara Soltaninejad - Machine Learning Developer, and Ammar Asmro - Senior Machine Learning Developer.
