Barbara Mittleman

Barbara Mittleman has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Their most recent position was as the Executive Director of Clinical Development at Alumis, beginning in December 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Strategy Officer and Vice Chairman at Waymark Analytics, starting in February 2016. At Applied Molecular Transport, from September 2020 to May 2022, Barbara worked as the Executive Director of Clinical Development, leading projects and collaborating with various teams. While at CSL Behring from March 2019 to September 2020, they held the role of Clinical Program Director, overseeing global clinical studies. Barbara also served as the Vice President of Clinical and Head of Immunology at Nodality Inc. from April 2013 to May 2015, where they focused on clinical populations, trial operations, and partnerships. Barbara has prior experience as a Science Policy Advisor at NIH/Office of Science Policy from June 2012 to March 2013. Before that, they held various roles at the National Institutes of Health, including Director of the Public-Private Partnership Program and Director of the Office of Scientific Interchange at NIAMS. Barbara has a background in medicine, having completed a Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and an Internal Medicine Residency.

Barbara Mittleman received their M.D. degree in Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1986. Barbara specialized in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology during their studies. Prior to that, they attended Taylor Allderdice, although the exact dates and the field of study are unspecified. Barbara also obtained certifications from ABIM in Internal Medicine in 1989 and in Rheumatology from 1992 to 2002, and is currently eligible for the Board.
