Petur Bjornsson

Petur Bjornsson has a diverse and extensive work experience in various financial roles. Petur is currently the Director of Internal Controls and SOX Compliance at Alvotech, where they began in July 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Project Manager at Alvotech starting in August 2020. Before joining Alvotech, Petur worked as a Finance Specialist at Félaga- og skattaráðgjöf slf. from June 2019 to August 2020. Petur also held the position of Financial Controller at Össur from September 2017 to May 2019, where they managed monthly consolidated financial reporting and implemented new IFRS standards.

Petur has previous experience at Actavis (later Allergan), where they served as the Director of Global Consolidation from March 2014 to August 2017. Petur was responsible for monthly consolidated financial reporting and participated in maintaining the reporting process. Petur also held the role of Group Consolidation Manager from December 2006 to February 2014 at Actavis, where they assisted in monthly consolidated financial reporting and had editorial responsibilities for the Actavis Finance & Accounting Manual.

Earlier in their career, Petur worked at Grant Thornton ehf. as a Manager from December 2000 to November 2006. Their responsibilities included auditing, accounting, tax work, due diligence, and valuation of financial positions. Petur gained experience working with both small companies and large groups.

Additionally, Petur served as the Finance Director/Managing Director at Signal ehf. from April 2000 to April 2004, and as an Assistant CFO at Kopavogur Municipality from May 1999 to November 2000. In these roles, they had various financial responsibilities, including supervision of the financial budgeting process and control over financial securities systems. Petur also supported the closing and reporting process of Kopavogur Municipality Employees' Pension Fund.

Petur Bjornsson attended Kopavogur High School from 1991 to 1995. Petur then went on to attend Háskóli Íslands from 1995 to 1999, where they earned a degree in Business Studies (Cand.oecon).
