Igor Pipkin

Igor Pipkin, PhD has a diverse and extensive work experience. Igor started their career as a Teaching Assistant at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, where they assisted with workshops and taught various mathematical models related to financial and commodity markets. Igor then worked as a Sales Region Manager at Flowcrete before transitioning into the field of data science. At NENA, Igor worked as an Analyst, focusing on modeling natural gas markets. Igor also developed analytical solutions for the UK natural gas market. Later, they joined Høgskolen i Østfold as a Ph.D. Research Fellow, conducting research on electricity and energy markets, competition, and regulations while teaching various courses. At SKM Market Predictor AS, Igor served as a Senior Research Analyst, leading the design and build of optimization, statistical, and machine-learning models. Igor also prototyped visualization tools and widgets. Additionally, Igor worked at Capgemini as a Senior Data Science Consultant, providing expertise in data analysis. Currently, Igor holds the position of Chief Data Scientist at Amedia, where they lead the AI department. Igor Pipkin, PhD, has an extensive education history. Igor earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Energy Economics/Finance from the School of Economics and Business at NMBU, where they studied from 2008 to 2016.
