Samiya Ilmudeen currently serves as the Lead for Physician Wellness at the American Academy of Family Physicians and as a Family Physician at NYU Langone Health, roles held since January and February 2021, respectively. Previously, Samiya worked as a Family Physician at the New York Hotel Trades Council from December 2019 to December 2020 and completed a residency as a Resident Physician at Mount Sinai Health System and The Institute for Family Health from July 2016 to October 2019, specializing in urban family medicine. Earlier experience includes serving as a Course Facilitator for narrative medicine with the American Medical Student Association from September 2015 to 2016. Samiya's educational background encompasses a Doctor of Medicine from Stony Brook University, a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature from Case Western Reserve University, a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Wellesley College, and a study abroad program at The University of Edinburgh focusing on Humanities/Humanistic Studies.
