Tina Adams

Clinical Content Development Lead at American Hospital Association

Tina Adams has a diverse work experience spanning from 1976 to 2012. Tina began their career as a Clinical Nurse at Henry Ford Hospital in 1976, where they provided care to patients on a 28-bed floor and later transitioned to a leadership role as a Charge Nurse. Tina then worked as a Clinical Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), mastering the care of critically ill patients. Tina also worked as a Registered Nurse, teaching Natural Childbirth classes in Oxford, MI.

In 1983, they joined Pontiac General Hospital as a Clinical Nurse, specializing in Neonatal Nursing. Tina gained expertise in caring for intermediate to high acuity patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and acquired skills in resuscitating newly-delivered infants. Tina continued their nursing career at the University of North Carolina Hospital as a Clinical Nurse II in the Level III NICU. Tina provided critical care to neonates and their families as well as took on leadership responsibilities as a Charge Nurse and Preceptor to new staff.

Tina then transitioned to a role as a Pediatric Flight Nurse at UNC Health Care, where they worked collaboratively with a respiratory therapist team to provide emergent care to neonatal, pediatric, and maternal patients. Tina lead the team during stabilizing procedures and obtained certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as an instructor and Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

In 1999, Tina became an Assistant Nurse Manager at North Carolina Children's Hospital, where they managed a 50+ bed NICU and was involved in patient care safety and quality improvement through committee deployment. Tina then worked as an Infection Preventionist for Women's and Children's Hospitals at the University of North Carolina Healthcare, providing infection prevention services, surveillance for hospital-acquired infections, and education to nursing and medical staff.

Most recently, Tina worked at the American Hospital Association (AHA) as a Clinical Content Development Lead. Tina provided clinical leadership in developing content related to healthcare improvement initiatives, with a focus on infection prevention and patient safety programs.

From 1974 to 1976, Tina Adams attended the Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing, where they completed a Diploma in Nursing. Tina'sfield of study was Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse.
