Vanessa Dojaquez-Torres

Vanessa Dojaquez-Torres is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Practice and Policy Counsel at the American Immigration Lawyers Association since September 2024. Previously, Vanessa held the position of Policy Counsel at HIAS from October 2022 to September 2024, and worked as Immigration Litigation Coordinator and Immigration Advocate & HIAS Border Fellow at Jewish Family Service of San Diego between October 2017 and September 2024. Prior to these roles, Vanessa was a Program Manager at the International Rescue Committee from June 2016 to October 2017 and served as Events Assistant at BIO5 from July 2010 to July 2012. Vanessa earned a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from California Western School of Law from 2012 to 2015 and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Arizona from 2008 to 2012.
