Ahmad Mohassel

Ahmad Mohassel, Ph.D., has a diverse and extensive work experience in various organizations. Currently, they serve as a Senior Data Scientist at the American Institutes for Research since January 2022.

Prior to that, Ahmad worked at Kimetrica as an Applied Scientist II from December 2020 to December 2021. Ahmad also held the position of Senior Economist at Kimetrica from July 2019 to December 2020.

From 2018 to 2019, Ahmad was a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance at Lamar University. Their responsibilities included conducting scholarly research and teaching courses in Economics, including Principles of Economics, Macroeconomics, and Port Economics.

Before Lamar University, Ahmad worked at Integra FEC as a Research Economist Fellow from May 2017 to December 2017. Their work involved performing quantitative analysis, developing econometric models, and utilizing SQL queries and statistical software to analyze data related to health care fraud and mortgage-backed securities.

Additionally, Ahmad gained research and teaching experience as a Researcher and PhD Candidate at the University of Arizona - Eller College of Management from 2011 to 2017. Their research focused on transportation economics and market mechanisms, including studying government policies on the transportation sector and analyzing the demand for parking.

Dr. Ahmad Mohassel has a strong education background in economics and electrical engineering. Ahmad obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Economics from the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management in 2017. Prior to this, they earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Economics from the same institution in 2011. In 2010, Dr. Mohassel completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Economics from Sharif University of Technology. Their undergraduate education includes a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the same university in 2008. Additionally, Dr. Mohassel has obtained certifications in areas such as Big Data Analysis for Water-related Applications from The United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH), and Machine Learning from Coursera Course Certificates.
