Amanda Williams

Amanda Williams has a diverse work experience. Since 2013, they have been working at the American Institutes for Research, starting as a Research Associate in January 2013 and progressing to become a Senior Researcher in April 2016. In March 2018, they transitioned to the role of Senior Learning Solutions Designer, focusing on Learning and Development. In September 2022, they were promoted to the position of Principal Learning Solutions Designer.

Prior to joining American Institutes for Research, Amanda worked as an Adjunct Instructor in Reading at Montgomery County Community College from October 2011 to June 2015.

Before that, from January 2009 to August 2011, they served as a STAR State Trainer at Rhode Island Adult Education.

Amanda'searliest experience in the field dates back to August 2007 when they joined Rhode Island Family Literacy Initiative as an Assistant Literacy Coordinator and Lead ESL Teacher, roles in which they remained until July 2011.

Amanda Williams completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature at the University of Rhode Island from 2002 to 2005. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Education with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction: Reading and Literacy at The George Washington University, which they completed in 2013.

In terms of additional certifications, Amanda obtained the Crucial Conversations certification from Crucial Learning in 2018. Amanda also acquired the Association for Talent Development (ATD) Master Instructional Designer™ certification from ATD CI - The ATD Certification Institute in December 2020. Additionally, they completed the Getting Things Done Trainer certification from VitalSmarts in January 2021. Most recently, in April 2023, Amanda achieved the Project Management Certificate from the Association for Talent Development (ATD).
