Amy Syvertsen, PhD has extensive experience in research and academia. Amy is currently working as a Principal Researcher at the American Institutes for Research. Before this role, they served as a Community Faculty Member at the University of Minnesota.
Prior to their current positions, Amy held various roles at Search Institute, including Senior Director of Research, Director of Research and Senior Research Scientist, and Director of Applied Quantitative Research and Senior Research Scientist. Amy also worked as a Research Scientist at Search Institute.
Amy has also worked as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Minnesota, where they taught and conducted research.
Earlier in their career, they held multiple roles at Penn State University, including NIH NRSA Predoctoral Fellow, Independent Research Consultant, NIH Prevention and Methodology Fellow, and Graduate Research Assistant. Amy also has experience as a Family and Consumer Science Educator and Student Advisor at Hinckley-Finlayson School District.
Amy Syvertsen, PhD obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Education from North Dakota State University, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. Amy then pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Youth and Family Education at Penn State University, attending from 2003 to 2005. Amy continued their academic journey at Penn State University and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Human Development and Family Studies from 2005 to 2010.
